Custom tracking domain

Serve tracking from track.yourshop.com for first-party cookies and fewer ad-blocker losses.

Why a custom domain

Served from track.yourshop.com, the script and events are first-party: ad blockers filter third-party tracking hosts, and Safari limits cookies set by other sites. Our server can also refresh _fbp/_fbc as real HTTP cookies on your domain.

Set it up

  1. Site page → Tracking domain → add a subdomain of your site's domain, e.g. track.yourshop.com.
  2. At your DNS provider create the CNAME record shown in the dashboard. If you use Cloudflare for your shop, set it to DNS only (grey cloud).
  3. Wait for status Active and SSL Active (minutes, sometimes a few hours). The dashboard checks automatically.
  4. Your install code and WordPress plugin download switch to the new domain. Update the script tag on your site (or re-download the plugin).

Up to 5 tracking domains per site. The domain must be a subdomain of the site's domain.

Note: custom domains are being rolled out; if the section isn't in your dashboard yet, the shared tracking address works meanwhile.
